I am absolutely fascinated by God’s love for me and all of humanity.  I personally describe love as “the giving of one’s self to another.”  When I ponder in retrospect on the fall of man, and witness the continuous apostasy travailing in the 21st century, the fact that God continues to be faithful to all of humanity, is a testament of His love for us, as described in John 3:16 which reads “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

I realize that the depth of love that God has for His people is immeasurable.  When I see a society whose morality is hanging from the thinnest of threads, and yet God continues to spare us from utter destruction, I see and understand more clearly the magnitude of His love.

I realize that the path that God has chosen for me in life has developed within me a passionate love for, not only myself and my family, but people of all races, creeds and colors.  My love for God and His people is what fuels my desire to serve the Christendom… and because I have adopted 1 Peter 4:8, which states “Charity shall cover the multitude of sins,” It is second nature for me to glean past the faults of others, and see them through the eyes of our Christ. Romans 3:23 states that “all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God.”  So no one is above reproach.  Believers are tasked with loving one another. We are obligated to help others in their Christian walk while maintaining our own spiritual stamina.

For me, loving God and His people is not an option, but a command.  Serving God and His people is not an option, but a command.  We are commanded to love and serve God and one another.  There are manifold conduits in which to serve.  For me, to pastor  in love is that conduit.

I believe that a true pastor is appointed from the heart of a loving God.  Therefore, a pastor’s heart must be one of love for God, himself, his wife and family, and God’s people, respectively.  I believe that a pastor is entrusted by the Lord to feed, nurture and lead His people with a loving heart. I also believe that the pastor’s heart extends to individuals, families and communities outside of the local church and neighborhood.

My doctrinal stance is outlined in Hebrews 4:12.” For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The Word of God is the foundation upon which all Christian Doctrine should be founded.  And, “other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”

Yours in the Master’s service,
