Spending many nights on his knees from the age of fourteen “Bishop,” as called by many of his friends, began his mission for the Lord.  Having been nurtured in the oracles of the Lord at Christ Temple Church in Long Island, New York, he further matriculated and graduated from the O.M. Kelly religious Training Institute of the Church of God In Christ. Bishop earned his undergraduate degrees in Liberal Arts from Nassau Community College in 1985; a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Norfolk State University (NSU) in 2006.  Bishop begin Master's work in Social Work at NSU and received a combined graduate degree and Ph.D in Theology and Biblical Counseling from BayView University in August of 2014.

"Bishop" accepted his call to the Gospel ministry in 1982. He was referred for ministerial ordination in 1985 by the late Superintendent D.H. Green. He was ordained into Christian ministry in 1985 by the late Bishop Frank O. White of the Third Jurisdiction of the Churches of God in Christ, Long Island, New York.

During his 40 years of service "Bishop" has served as Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, Church board member, Assistant Pastor, Pastor, Chairman of the trustee Council, Associate Elder, local Minister of Music, District Dean of Music and many other servicing positions in the church.

Bishop’s Rhema and music ministries have taken him to scores of churches and communities throughout the Eastern United States.    A few of his most memorable services include accompaniment to internationally renowned jazz pianist, Lionel Hampton and civil rights activist, the late Rosa Parks.

"Bishop"  is a Child & Adolescent Mental Health Case Manager with the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board. He previously served as the vice-chairman of the Norfolk Regional LHRC (Local Human Rights Committee) and Chairman of the Bay Regional LHRC.  He is the Proprietor and original designer of The Portrait Timeplaque.  He is the author of the book, Though Millions Have Come, published in 2002.  He is the father of Richie, Jr., Antoinette, Sharee and Isaiah, a visionary, a community leader, and a preacher and teacher of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

"Bishop"  believes that Life, from a spiritual paradigm, is a product of eternity… a timeless existence where categories of past, present and future are irrelevant. Life is a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. No matter its brevity, we are commanded to engage it with great expectation, embracing the hope of everlasting life. One of Jesus’ parables teaches mankind to “occupy” until He comes. In the grand scheme of living, life is about inhabiting the creation of God and living His commandments adorned with the great hope of Heaven.

The way of life is Jesus Christ himself. He is the way and the truth. His way is outlined in his word, the Bible.  In fact, He is the Word, incarnate. His commands are not grievous. The promises therein are consistently fulfilled, thereby imparting to every believer His endless love. His warnings are to be heeded with a passionate fear, knowing that He holds our best interest at heart. His presence is to be acknowledged in every area of our life. It is in Him mankind exists. Because of this, each person chooses his eternal destiny by the way he responds to the oracles of God.

All who have accepted Christ and have died will one day rise from their graves and will meet the Lord Jesus Christ in the air. Christians, who have not yet died, will be caught up with them to be with God forever.
